Robert + Ashley // McCall, Idaho Engagement Session

Getting to meet these two precious souls was such a gift for me! As always, the world is so much smaller than we ever believe! I know parts of Ashley's family in my hometown and Robert just graduated law school with my husband's best friend! We couldn't believe it! 

I asked Ashley to share their proposal story with me and I have to say that I love it so much! She mentioned that it was simple, but I think that is what makes it so amazing! 

"Robert and I met through his family about 10 years ago. We started dating right after he officiated my best friend's wedding (his second cousin) in 2014. We found a beautiful ring from James Allen online back in April and it was set to arrive in early May. He originally planned on proposing after his graduation from law school in May but the ring was delayed and did not arrive in time. We had an upcoming trip to Costa Rica with his family as a graduation gift at the end of May and I figured he would propose after that. The morning of the trip we were getting everything ready to go and I hopped in the shower. As I got out and started getting ready, I came around the corner of our bedroom and Robert was standing there. He looked me in the eyes and dropped down to his knee with the beautiful ring and asked if I would marry him. I could hardly get out a yes before the tears of joy started falling! It was simple and sweet and made the trip to Costa Rica extra special! We set our date for the same day he proposed the following year!"

This session is absolutely one of my favorites! We photographed first in Ponderosa State Park where I made them balance on stumps and then moved to a private beach to the dock shots. I am DYING over these dock shots!
